Single-Payer Healthcare means "single" idea, which means less competition, which means less chance to innovate, which means lessor Healthcare, and higher cost. Competition in the "marketplace" of ideas is how progress occurs. The more ideas fleshed out, the better the ones that rise to the top, and the better the ones that rise above those. It's an ongoing progression, and "single-payer" will stifle that.
